JULY 2024 Updates

  • Strengthening the mission of ISC to empower children, ABBS and ABB at Lonavala have formed children’s bodies in both the school and the Balgram. The newly elected members are excited about their roles and are looking forward to voicing their opinions confidently and responsibly.
  • Multiple collaborative initiatives in the ISC AAKAR program, Pune: Thrift and saving strengthening practices were discussed by ISC in collaboration with Ajeevika Bureau and Indian Post Services. Secondly, 70 children benefitted from hands-on learning in collaboration with Viswakalyan Gurukul Sewa Foundation when their volunteers and teachers introduced circuits and their making in a fun way to the children. Last but not least, Symbiosis Law College students under the Symbiosis Foundation’s Community Program addressed women on the issue of domestic violence and the legal help available for it.
  • ISC Saksham, Pune upskilling courses for women from slum communities are in full swing. As the latest development, the SAKSHAM program has progressed by tying up with Khadi Kora Kendra, Mumbai, and Ravi Verma Art Gallery, Pune for the sale of SAKSHAM products through these outlets.
  • Guru Purnima and Ashadhi Ekadashi festivals at Balgram and ABBS were celebrated with fervor. Children and teachers took out a rally in the Ramnagar area, highlighting the issue of cleanliness and hygiene for themselves and their surroundings. Children enjoyed the monsoon downpour by doing rice plantation on the occasion of Guru Purnima, revering Mother Nature as an important teacher. ABBS promotes experiential and immersive learning experiences as guided under NEP 2020.
