The Origin Story
In August 2006, Pratiksha came to Bal Gram as a little girl with her two siblings. She was admitted to the Antar Bharati Balgram School by her father since there was no family member at home to take care of the children. A daily wage worker, her father was determined to gift his children a better life and career.
The Learning Curve
As a child, Pratiksha struggled with education but her motivation to learn made up for it. She completed her education with a score of 48% in the SSC examination, 67% in the HSC exam, and 68% in Bachelors of Commerce. She is now studying to become a Chartered Accountant and is pursuing her CA Articleship in Pune.
Growing Gains
At Bal Gram, she has exhibited growth not just academically but also personally and socially, developing a strong relationship with the younger children. She acts as a mentor for their educational and mental well-being while working with the Bal Sadan House Mothers to take care of the children with love and care.
